Candace Vanderhoff - Director
Candace is a licensed architect and social entrepreneur working to restore the environment with simple and natural solutions. Her goal with the schoolyard pizza oven at Albert Einstein was to design and build an oven to the meet the Division of State Architects requirements, and after a year of supplying technical documents, a building permit was obtained. The oven is approved for use in a classroom lesson, which means that only the students participating in that lesson could enjoy the cooked food. The health department approval was extremely stringent, but did agree that if used for educational purposes. the students could eat pizza they cooked in their oven.
This oven is a project of Las Casitas.
